A visit to the Parks Science and Astronomy Centger is a great experience for students of all ages. Whether your field trip is an introduction to concepts or a culmination of a curriculum unit, our programs provide inquiry-based learning opportunities that engage students and encourage them to discover and explore the world around them. This class is for anyone ages 10 to 17 who wants to learn about the amazing world of insects! Without them, there could be no life on Earth! This class will include an outing to study as many different insects as we can and will turn anyone into a great admirer of the incredible insect!

Blast Off! (All Ages)

 

Have a blast learning how astronauts live in space. Daily activities, like eating and sleeping, are like nothing on Earth! Make a pop-up rocket to take home.

 

Mad Scientist! (Ages 7 & up)

 

Be amazed when the Mad Scientist makes snow appear and water disappear right before your eyes. Use a secret recipe to mix up a batch of mystery goo and explore why it is called bizarre matter! You get to take your lab coat home!

Roaring Dinosaurs! (Ages preschool - 8 years)

 

Have a prehistorically good birthday. Jump back in time to discover the exciting ways of the dinosaur. Make a fossil mold to take home. This party is dino-mite!

 

Science Below Zero (Ages 6-12)

 

This is the “coolest” party ever! Experience the bone chilling effects of 320 degrees below zero liquid nitrogen and experiment with solids, liquids and gases in a really cool way. Watch in amazement as liquid nitrogen makes balloons “magically” deflate, leaves shatter like glass, tennis balls launch from a cannon, and much more!
